Passing an Ember

Free online exploration of Storytelling, lineage and living tradition

Wednesday 10th June · 7.30pm · Free · Online

Gather by the Hearth

On the 10th of June, we gather online for an evening of story and conversation about the art of transmission — how the old tales travel, how they're shaped, and what it takes to carry them well.

I'll open with a story from Skye, passed to me by my own mentor David Campbell. Then we'll talk — about what real apprenticeship in the oral tradition looks like, the lineages that have shaped contemporary Scottish storytelling, and the living question of how those traditions survive and change in the hands of a new generation of tellers.

This is a standalone evening, free to attend, and worth your time whether you're a seasoned storyteller, someone just beginning to find their way toward the old stories, or simply curious about what it means to carry a tradition forward.
